Where exactly do I measure ceiling height from?
From the highest point of the floor, which is the same datum your cabinets will be set to. Measuring from a low spot flatters the room by an inch and is how a 96″ tall cabinet ends up not clearing the ceiling. Find the high point first, then measure up from there in several places.

Ontario rebates for replacing kitchen appliances

Replace an existing electric appliance with an ENERGY STAR Most Efficient model and Home Renovation Savings pays a rebate: induction cooktop or range $150, fridge $50, freezer $50, dishwasher $25. The appliance you replace has to be electric (a gas stove swapped for induction does not qualify), the old unit is recycled, used or refurbished units are excluded, and you apply online within 60 days of purchase.
