Question of the Day

Peninsula or island?

An island needs clearance on all four sides — 42″ is the working figure, more where a dishwasher or oven door opens into it. If the room cannot give you that, a peninsula delivers most of the same worktop and seating while borrowing its fourth side from the wall. A cramped island is the most regretted item in a kitchen plan.
