Question of the Day

There is no stud where I need to screw a wall cabinet — now what?

Do not solve it with anchors alone. The reliable fixes, in order: shift the cabinet a little so a rail lands on a stud; open the wall and add solid blocking between studs before you close it up; or, for a genuinely light cabinet only, supplement stud fixings with heavy-duty toggles. A loaded wall cabinet held by drywall anchors is a matter of time, not luck.

The policy rate is currently 2.25%. Variable-rate mortgages and HELOCs usually follow it, so it matters if you plan to borrow for a renovation.
